"S. J. Tucker: This Pixie can Rock!"
by Azzerac
I was plugging away on our myspace page, posting & approving 'friend requests', when one of the pages loaded. While waiting for the endless clip-art to finish d-loading, the audio player started. I was blown away! I clicked, and clicked, and clicked, and finally found the source of the music:
Her Name: S. J. Tucker, AKA: "Skinny White Chick"
If you know her name, I'm preaching to the Choir, as it's nearly impossible not to sing along. This woman's angry lyrics, filled with 'reverent irreverence', grab you by the gonads, and take you for the ride of you Pagan-Oriented Life! It's okay: we're all doing it!
She isn't just about how much one can get away with, either.
There's a side of her music I never knew was there, until seconds before posting THIS little, enchanting nugget:
The audio doesn't do this song justice, but the feel is the same....
I'm so happy to see that the pagan music scene isn't simply so much re-heated ritual chants. This music goes beyond simply "pagan", but is so clean & artful as to wonder why it isn't all over the air-waves! In an era where so much of the bardic art is stagnating in re-heated, dirge-like reproductions of the chant that bored you mindless, at your last open circle, S. J. Tucker's music is like a breath of fresh-air. To be more accurate, it's like leaving a funeral, straight into a smoke-filled party and finding a beer forced into your hand! You will remember that this is a party, this life & lifestyle, and this Pixie won't let you forget that, as long as you keep listening!
There's a good chance her tour is swinging past your state, soon, so keep your eyes peeled on her myspace page.
Count yourself lucky: She's Still doing "House Shows", and tiny venues!See her in intimate settings, while you still can!
