Where's Your Shop Located?

About twice a month we're asked that, and though it pains me to say, that for the time-being, L&L is Strictly Online. The economy isn't strong enough, in this area, to support another Occult shop, let alone a Quality Metaphysical Supply Store. Though the both of us plied our respective trades on opposite coasts, it wasn't until meeting in Colorado that we teamed up to found Lodestone & Lady's Mantle.
As the Winds of Fortune blow, we will keep you informed.

Do You Sell Wholesale?

As of recently, we have been receiving a flood of requests, and we must answer: "No. We do not sell 'wholesale'." ...and for many reasons. To name the most obvious, we have been, and still are, working hard to ensure the reliability & standards of our products. Everything is hand-made & maintained, to insure it's consistency & freshness. Every mixture includes a born-on birth-chart, for greater effectiveness in your castings. We can't guarantee these simple aspects in a wholesale market.

Secondly, we are not a factory. We're crafts-people. There are no huge machines, no assembly lines, and most of all, there are no vacations. We work hard, 16 hours a day, to keep the supply meeting demand.

Our prices are already too low for what goes into making them, too sell at expected whole-sale prices.

We are known, however, to help non-profit pagan organizations with fundraising goods. We support our local & long-distance pagan communities. If you have a request, please feel free to send us the details, including 501C3 Certification number for your non-profit, and we will be happy to consider your cause!

Can you send me a printed catalogue?
        We don't print catalogues.
                Our site is our catalogue.
                Since our products are all hand made, the the need for immediate updates is paramount. As or craftsmen are only making one-of-each, and our prices fluctuate with market costs, a printed catalogue would be misleading in a matter of months, and totally useless by the end of a year.

What makes you such an authority?

Collectively, we have over forty Five years of experience, just between the two of us, in the Craft and the Occult. Our experience comes not only from time and "book smarts", but problem solving, applied research, and practical application.

What can I expect from shopping with your Store?

What makes your products better?

We are truly detail oriented; every formula is made in accordance to proper and applicable astrological alignments, and respected historical and modern references. Formulas from the ancient world are painstakingly reproduced, with no detail omitted nor component substituted.

Why do you only sell loose incense?

For one thing, the inclusion of saltpeter (used in self lighting incense) as well as bamboo (as found in stick incense), change the correspondence of the formula. Loose incense is also more flexible in ritual use, more used in key points of the ceremony. You can't turn off a joss stick, or inspire billowing clouds from it! Loose incense is a fresher product, requiring less preservatives and less labor.

How do you choose when to prepare formulas?

Certain formulas, especially historical blends such as Abra-Melin, require that it be made "before the Sabbath" (before sunset Friday). Astrological formulas are made on corresponding days of the week. Now take the phase of the Moon into consideration. Void-of-course Moon is avoided when composing any batch, as well as awkward planetary configurations. Every mixture sold includes a printed astrological chart, detailing the planetary aspects at its creation for enhanced accuracy of use.

Why do you use organic ingredients?

Its as close as you can get to "wild crafting" without raping the environment. As practitioners of Wicca and other Earth oriented spiritual paths, it is essential that the tools we use reflect that. Insuring that the materials central to our spiritual practice were made in accordance to ethical standards, and not produced by child slave labor in China. Inclusively, one never knows what effect the chemical fertilizers and pesticides have on a formula's efficacy.

How do I get my work Seen on Craftsman's Corner?

It's really quite simple:

If you have an art form of pagan interest, be it jewelry work, limited edition castings, wands, tools, statues, painting, or anything, just contact us. Show us a page of your stuff, even if it's just one or two items. If you don't have a portfolio site, then just email pictures. All of your work remains YOUR intellectual property, and we wouldn't dream about infringing upon that.

This is about getting Your Work to the people Hungry for it! You can't do that until People Know Your Work Exists! Whatever your circumstances, we're willing to work with you. We'll find way to make it all happen!

Why is Craftsman's Corner rarely filled?

This page focuses on unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. As soon as it's sold, the object is removed from the list. Check back often!

Well, I've looked all over your site, and I don't find where you sell either Lodestone OR Lady's Mantle. How Come?

This site only carries ethically harvested minerals, and (if we carry individual herbs at all) only herbs that are harvested on the historically respected and agreed day/season/lunar-cycle. If we can't confirm the source of either, then we carry what we collect ourselves.

As we get more in, it will be posted on updated "shop-counters" installments.
