I really appreciate your patience, now back to it!
The Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram (LBRP) is best described by The Golden Dawn. Though many metaphysical Groups, and Fraternal Orders use this technique, I have yet to be able to link it to a specific source. The commonality of most orders that invoke this defense forms is that they, with few exceptions, are Orders rooted in Christianity & Freemasonry. Though to many of you, it may sound Ominous, these time-honored (and Inquisition-Surviving) Groups should help you allay any fears of the Diabolical that you may associate with the word "pentagram".

As I always say, "Research, People"! The more you know, the more you can relate-to, or discard-from, your pre-existing models of the Universe. If something doesn't "jibe well" with you, get rid of it.
In defense of this Process: Not only is it a time honored invocation for banishing negativity, but the more you do do it, the more result-potential it has. The more it succeeds, the more you'll have faith in it, and the more it will succeed. Also, it get's you into the habit of performing magical rituals daily. This is a good habit to have if you want to become truly powerful within this aspect of your life.
Exercises:
#1 ) "Research, People!" Find out if there's anything about this Banishing that threatens your personal ethics. If it does, I suggest you find a ritual that agrees with your Moral or Dogmatic Code. You aren't here trying to find Religion, but a Practice in Magic that builds upon what you already know & believe. THAT is where you find true strength: In Your Self!
Any group that tells you that you've always been wrong, and shows you "The Right Way To Think", isn't a path. It's Brain-Washing, and you shouldn't stand for it.
#2) Perform the ritual, as stated above (If it's okay with you). Here's the link again: BUTTON
If you don't own Ritual Tools, use your index finger. Most say "The Right Hand", but if you're Left-Dominant, try it with your left. Hell: Try it with both! Check the results, and see which works best for you.
Another thing to remember is that REAL witches always used what the had on hand. They couldn't run down to the mall and pick up a "Really Cool Dagger". Even if they could afford a special knife or sword, it would have been made by hand, and it was likely it would attract attention if it looked like anything other than a standard kitchen knife.
So, use a standard kitchen knife, if you feel so inclined. They're yours, right?
We live in a technologically advanced society, and a certain degree of anonymity comes with that. Get the dagger you want. Get one that looks so cool that it really gets your blood pumping, or one discrete enough to keep "Your Little Secret". Different people get a charge from one more that another.
The time has come to start thinking about the tools that best represent you and your practices. I'll refer to using them in the future, but the end goal is to do without.
