An Astral Bestiary


(Brought To You By,...)


    This is where we start to address the things you'll be seeing, on the other side.

    When we're perched in the physical realm, our field of vision is limited to the physical. As we began to experiment in Aura Perception, we started to take a look at the next vibratory level. As we began to see the first layer, everything else, outside of the body, that resonates at that vibratory range also came into view. It's about time I started letting you know a bit more about these little "Floaters"

Even if you have started to figure them out for your self, it's always good to get a 'professional opinion'.

    This is why we had to work on self-defense, first.

You are NOT alone out there!

    First, we need a bit of a Landscape portrait, to keep track of this:

    It hadn't occurred to me to refer to the Physical Realm, until now. In Occult Sciences, it's taken as as 'given' that we're referring to physical manifestations. "We always overlook the thing right before our eyes"!

    Since "alpha" has be taken, we'll simply refer to the physical world as "Ground-Zero"! (That's our 'Target', isn't it?)

    The first range, as with the first layer of the aura, is emotional. It is where all the emotions everyone experiences rise, radiate, and take shape. Most ghosts and haunting, especially those with a Kinetic element (Moving objects, tapping, lights flickering, etc...) take place here. It is where the spiritual meets the physical, and has the greatest influence. Just as you venture into that realm, this is where it ventures into ours.
We'll call the area & it's inhabitants the "Alpha"

    Next, we have the Intellectual Layer. Here, we get more abstract data, manifestations, and a host of the divine & diabolical. Standardizing these entities, let alone the terrain, can get dicey. It changes so very dramatically with the minds in proximity, whether they're asleep or awake, or even sober. This is where most telepathic contact takes place, and the forms that can take changes dramatically with differing world views, even from one observer to next.
We'll call this realm of perception "Beta"

    Finally, we have the Spiritual. This is the target vibratory rate of almost all astral hopefuls. Here, all bets are off! The terrain changes as fast as water in a rushing river. The fauna are literally the stuff that dreams are made of! This is where the True Divine resides, the True-Will is connected with, the plane of enlightenment that Transcendental Meditation Practitioners reach for & rave about. (Note: T.M. Practitioners may not necessarily walk this realm, but Samadhi is reached from coexisting with this vibratory "Plane")
We'll call this range "Gamma".

    There are quite possibly, and probably, more vibration rates beyond this, but they reside so far beyond the physical experience as to be unnoticeable by all but the most devoted practitioners of this art form. I feel they fall outside of the scope of this treatise,  for now.

    Now, the 'occupants' you'll encounter won't simply be limited to one vibration level. They can cross-over, straddle, and even manifest through all Four (That includes the Physical). Just as you have actually always existed on all these levels, consciously & unconsciously, others share that privilege as well. We'll start with the obvious inhabitants...

    GHOSTS: Everyone has heard of these. Every culture & language has a word to denote them. They take many forms. Let's list them, shall we?

    "Imprints": These are images that are basically no more than the terrain projecting back some horrible event of the past. A bad fight, a violent event, even the prolonged state of depression of a certain individual, can create these entities. It coalesces in an area, and can trigger these feelings & reactions in others within the area. They are "Vapors" that have taken on a life of their own. Not quite "thought-forms", as they lack any real motivation or intelligence.

        They do, however, need to feed, to sustain themselves. Like leeches, they instinctively inspire the emotions they emulate and 'harvest the sympathy'.

    "Actors": These are believed to be the actual Astral Bodies of people experiencing an emotionally charged death. The aura becomes so highly charged by fear or rage in the event of an individual's death, that the first layer sticks around. When they are experienced in the physical realm, it is when events are right to trigger these astral bodies back into motion. It can be anything as simple as the phase of the moon, or hour of the night. It can be as complex as driving down the street where they were hit & killed, at the just the right speed.

        These ghosts have no intellect, either. They don't react to others. They pass through objects that weren't there when they died. They even interact with people that aren't recorded into the recreation with them. They are, simply put, reenacting.

        With these, the intellect & 'will' have parted company with the astral, having seen their eminent demise, and 'moved on'.

    "Haunts":  "Dreams in Denial" best describe these people. They either don't know or don't care that they are dead. "Unfinished Business" is the usual assumption. Some are still here out of greed. They're Home, a prized heirloom, or even their trophy wife can be enough impetus to stay.

        With other's, it's simply fear. "Here" is safe. No one is more terrified than a dead atheist! The first assumption they have, raised in mostly-christian America, is that their going to hell. "Screw That!", can be a common reaction. For those that are christian, they soon realize that there's a profound difference between what they thought and what they're experiencing. What would You do?

        Then there are some that just don't know they're dead. No body means it's hard to process the data. They get up, go through their daily paces, and are hard-pressed to figure out why everyone is reacting to them differently, if they react at all. They can't figure out where their things have gone, or why others are moving in. These usually react with tantrums: Throwing things, making noises, hiding your stuff. I even had one that punched a hole in the wall, when she saw my "Modern Furniture" being moved into her Victorian manse. Her cat was more visible.

        This effect isn't limited to just humans, but animals as well.



 Shall we continue?

    "Vapors": These are the emotions emitted by people just living they're daily lives. In this state, they are nothing more than amorphous clouds of emotion. They are the color-spots people see in auras, but they take on a slow-motion flame appearance in the astral. Every change in emotion can cause a resulting 'form-change' in how these vapors act & react.  Love & Rage are two very different animals, especially on the "Alpha Level". When their powerful enough, they can survive, anywhere from seconds to an unlimited duration, apart from their source. These vapors can saturate an area, and result in the "Imprints" covered above.

   "Fraught-Forms": These are vapors that have taken on autonomy. They are their own person now. The feed on like emotions to that which spawned them. They're more like the imprints above, but aren't limited to a specific area or object (House). They don't have forethought or presence of mind to pick you as their target. You just happen to be moving past, and they find you. This is a major reason why people take regular aura-cleansing baths, purify their homes every full moon, and practice the L.B.R.P. daily, to drive these off.

        If you're an active spell caster, it can get even worse! They flock to your castings like "Moths" to a flame. (This is why, before, I would simply call them "Moths".) They can feed on the very emotion that you use to charge your spells. This can lead to unexpected spell failure, and lead you to assume your spells don't work. Regardless of whether or not you are a spell worker, energy healer, or the like, it can lead to other problems. These Moths can flock to the empathic, as their emotions are triggered more readily than other potential food-sources.

        The effects can range from as little as bad luck & bad dreams, to sudden unexplained claustrophobia, bi-polar shifts, sexual addiction, and even self-destructive behavior. Their effects can be tantamount to being Cursed. The do whatever they can to inspire the emotions they crave. This includes, but isn't limited to, unexplained rages, inspiring emotions in you to extract them from others, long bouts of depression, and worse.

        Even if your personal defenses are good, it's no guarantee that they will let you alone. As a spell caster, you are like a beacon of light in the "Alpha Level". Good shields just makes you hard to tap: Moths against a window. They won't get you, but they still flock to you. That means that everyone around you is in jeopardy. Any lesser caster is going to assume you're some sort of Psychic vampire. The difference is that it's not you. The problem is that the flocks of under-trained, over-certain pretenders & deceived practitioners can't tell the difference. This can lead to social problems, within your community. Better to be rid of the Moths, all together.

                                 Also, find a good home purification spell. We have a few in our L&L Spellbook, but if they aren't to your tastes, do some research and find the one that works best with your ideology.
