"Steal This Book of Shadows"
ver 2.0 Page 32 (Brought To You By,...)
This is how I like to write these: On The Fly! (See "Bass-Ac-Words!", the Blog for "S.T.B.O.S.")
"PROB-MOD": Probability Modification, -also called "Nipping" (Manipulating
Reality) Admit it: That's really what we're talking about. Getting what you want, the way you want it, when you want it. No muss! No Fuss! No bad after-taste, and no waxy build-up! It's about stretching & squeezing the world into your model of it, into your mold! ...and Why Not!? That's what the last page was about: Knowing that we create models, seeing how different models are developed through different view-points, seeing how we make these models ourselves, and lastly, recognizing one view-point from the next! It's about seeing how your world-view can change, over years or in a heartbeat! It has the added benefit of showing how we edit models, for concentration & focus, strip them down for those meditative moments, and force them into narrow angles for clearer thinking in tough moments. If you've ever taken mind-altering drugs, this variation is easily understood. "Stoned" from "Sober" is a great comparison. "Drunk" from "Sober" will do in a pinch, as well. This isn't the be-all, totality of it, though. This is just the road map. "HERE BE DRAGONS!" Another thing to remember is that The Road Map isn't complete! Your world views have holes you could drive a freight-train through! Our Connect-The-Dots reality models are incomplete, at best, and House-of-Cards Structures, at worst! Don't Fret: We'll be taking advantage of those Holes. "Those Holes are our friends!" Every time a "Time Released" spell is cast, the caster is taking advantage of those holes. The things they can't see or know about, like areas of blank canvas, can be painted by the spell caster. This canvas isn't just two dimensional, either. As the days, minutes, & moments change, so does the area of blank-canvas to be addressed. Depending on how these moments unfold, and how the models of the spell caster are applied, the spell weaves through these blank areas. A "Needle Point" analogy could be applied just as easily, if you are so predisposed. When a spell caster performs their workings, they are using that circle, moment of casting, and the processes involved, not only to define the beginning of the spell, but also the "NOW" (Before the Prob-Mod takes place), the "HERE", as an anchoring in reality, before the change, and the very act of casting gives the impression of "Doing". This "Doing" has a type of "Faith-Booster" involved in it. The sense of "Cause & Effect" inherent is spell casting becomes a symbol in it's own right to add an extra degree of Certainty in the procedure. We'll get more in to every aspect & effect of spell composition, in the future, and even tear-apart the "Twenty-Something Laws of Magic", as well. All in good time! For now, know that this is one of the hardest concepts to wrap your mind around, by it's self & without "Tinker-Toys", so if you can wrap your mind around this, You're one of the rare ones: CONGRATS! It took taking-on new models, playing with the results, practicing with stones, burning incense, etc, before I could actually strip it all away. Without the Tools & Trinkets, it takes a lot more work to do Magic this way, and the results aren't as clear-cut or impressive. When you have the properly associated tools, and so-forth, Concentrating is easier, time is on your side, and you can truly apply yourself to the task. When the need is dire, though, it's good to know how this is done, impromptu! There are two different types of Prob-Mod, and we'll be covering both!
The First: On The Fly! (Little Changes, to get what you want.)
The Second: Playing God! (Making big changes to the reality structure
that will have you questioning your sanity!)
The First: On The Fly! You've been doing The Fill-The-Room with Temporal-Lobe Connection for a while, now. You know what it feels like. You've sat in your home, and played "Think 'Round Corners" with the greatest of ease. Have you tried it outside? Have you tried it in an environment where you don't walk past 50 times a day? Have you tried it somewhere where you aren't in control of the environment? When you perform this skill in two widely differing environments, the reception of data can drift into "Grey Scales" of certainty. At home, you know where everything is. There is a likelihood, pre-determined by you, that certain objects & occurrences will be present or transpire, respectively. The likelihood of an unfamiliar object being in YOUR house is much less than, say, being around the corner from your favorite coffee-house patio porch. The odds of a long lost friend appearing in your kitchen is so very, very small, when compared to appearing as you walk through a mall. First thing we need to do is get you in touch with this Grey-Scale of Certainty. We need to "Find The Holes". We'll call them "Chaos". Why Chaos?
Observation Creates Reality, right? Step One: "Go out to a Coffee shop" It doesn't
have to be a new coffee shop. Your favorite one will do. Feel for the variations in your perceptions in this venue. ...then take it to a new place: Somewhere you've never gone before. Go to a new coffee shop. When you've gotten your "Large House-Blend", sit down in their main room, and relax. Don't look. Just "Think 'Round Corners", first. Pick some place you haven't seen. Start with the bathroom. Look to the door, and 'think' into it. Make a map, mentally, of every aspect, from color of walls & composition, to how foul it may smell. When you think you have a "Lock" on the room, go and check it out. Deal solely with your perceptions, and then, afterwards, go and sneak a peek at your target zone. Here's the real exercise: Get a feel for the "Wrong" answers. Was the wallpaper the same color? Was it tile, after all? Was the toilet on the other side? See how your Mind responds to the variations. Not your Ego, but your actual mental modeling. Your Ego has it's own crap to work out, but what you need to sense is "Variation". The Impact of "Possibility" vs "Manifestation" on your sense of certainty and your reality models. Feel the difference between supposition (before you opened the door) and Manifestation (the immediate impression upon seeing the room). Savor the differing sensations of what was right and how your brain received it, from what was different than your "T.R.C." impressions. This develops an intuitive model of "Probability". That difference is "Chaos". We need to learn to "Push" that "Right Impression" any time we sense that "Different" area of perception. I could go into great, lengthy descriptions as to how it feels to me, but that might just succeed in misdirecting you from your own impressions. You need to learn to pick up & process this information in your own way, before we continue. This One Takes Some
Doing!
" 'Personal space', in accord to my internal sense of scale": These are variable, set against the back-drop of your own, pervading reality model. It's a side-effect of self-esteem, your sense of scale relative to other objects, and more. By adjusting this sense of scale, we can effect greater areas, for more phenomenal results (Weather Manipulation, et al).
