Words in Spellcasting

(Brought To You By,...)

Any animal that can speak, will, and at every opportunity! From guttural grunts & barks, to the eloquent, multisyllabic expounding of the intellectual effete, words are the very beginning of moving thought into deed. It is said that half of solving any problem is simply giving it a name.

The very words we speak have moral ramifications. With the imposition of heresy, blasphemy, honesty & deciet, and vulgarity, cultures have fought speech as well as fought for its freedom. Others still have abused it, to the point of socio-political distortion, confusion, and instigation. From the “Impending Ice-Age” they railed against in the 1970’s, to the Ozone Hole they forgot about in the 1980’s & 90's, and now the Global Warming Scare that will have you buying artificially attained carbon-credits from the very spokesman’s company (“Chicken Little's Hard-Hat Emporium”)!! (Footnote) You can see the power words can have over a wide environment, and why people would like to restrict their use.

It’s not just a matter of what is being said. The very act of speech is limited to a very small number of species, and only one does it with originality, as opposed to mimicry. Most people end up regurgitating the antics & anecdotes of a mindless or malicious media, and never say anything of content.

When words are spoken from a place of honesty, integrity, and Will, they have power (beyond fear mongering).

They are the Law of the Soul!

The origin of the written word was one steeped in metaphysical intrigue! It seemed as magic to the un-educated. The very Idea of being able to share knowledge without hearing it! It lead to the foundation & mythology behind the great libraries of Ashurbanipal in Assyria, The Library of Alexandria, and it even in Ireland, where they saved (like a computer file) Western Civilization from going down with Rome’s Collapse, by finally accepting the written word, and embracing it. These last copied every text they could, as Europe disintegrated.

The mythologies of words, written & spoken are as varied as the cultures that spawned them. The Hebrew doctrines preach a power of the written & spoken word that points to the very origin of writing, as divine. They state boldly, that In The Beginning, The Was The Word. They hold that it was a Word, spoken by a Divine Male, which brought everything into motion. They hold that every letter in a word has a single meaning, and that, by adding these letters, the word itsself gains meaning & divine validation. The very complex numerological associations between letters, numbers, and divine lore of celestial intelligences (angels, demons, devils, gods, etc,..) was played out in every syllable of this tongue.  The most famous example of this magical-language usage is in the Legend of The Golem. In this tale, a Rabbi, well versed in the Kabalistic arts, shapes a giant man from clay. In inscribing Four Letters into the wet clay of the Golems’ forehead, it was then, through Will & Certainty, “Containing The Breath of Life of God”, and came to life. Simply erasing the last letter, the inscription read the word meaning “Without Breath”, and would fall motionless.

The Mind holds the meaning.
The meaning is in the letters.
            The Letters make the word.
            The word expresses the Idea.
The Will decides the word, and the word expresses the Will.

This effect isn't limited to the Jewish Faiths, either.

Who hasn't seen a set of runes for sale, in any one of a dozen "Trinket's-R-Us" stores? These are of the Norse faiths, and have a Legend all their own, that greatly effected christianity. Odin, hanging for Nine Days from Ygddrasil, the World Tree, a gaping wound in his side from a spear (Sound familiar yet?), passed so close to death & subsequent enlightenment, that upon his return, he had knowledge of the 24 sigil-words of power. We call them simply "Runes", but it doesn't stop there!  These runes have developed a dualistic nature: Someone has gotten it into his head (Blum) that the meaning should be watered-down & generalized so as to incorporate divination into their use. Originally, these runes were inscribed, and the very inscriptions held the power of each rune, and imparted it upon the object. There are now so many & varied interpretations, not to mention engraving styles, gestures, and even FLASH-Cards (!?!), that the whole mess has become too convoluted to trust a single author. The value of these runes is great, as their use resonates so very well in the Akasha! I suggest you pursue your own course, and test interpretations of the runes for greatest personal efficacy!

This form of word-inscription is tantamount to "Symbols", and the subject, here, is Words. We'll get into Symbols, a bit later.

The thing to remember is that each Rune has a name. That name was also considered a "Magic Word": The Language of Magic, in Norse Occult Practices.

    What's Next?

    Hindu Mantras!

If you haven't heard the word "Om", you've been cloistered for far too long! It is the most common mantra in American Mysticism.  I can only hope that more than half of those that try to use it actually know what it represents. It is the trigger-word for opening the Third-Eye Chakra (See chart on page 10). Some seem to think it's the only mantra, and chant it endlessly, without intent, and still wonder why they get very little progress. I digress: The truth is that there are many mantras. Research infers, as well, that any word or phrase, repeated with conviction & intent, functions the same as any old-world mantra, with like-effectiveness.  It awakens areas of the mind & body. In some regards, mantras are "Words of Power", and (either Intrinsically or Spiritually), impart a reorganization of mind and in keeping with their meaning, impart changes to the individual & effect circumstances in the physical world.

Latin: There's what most people think of when they think "Magic Words". After the fall of Rome, only the very, very rich were classically educated. This education incorporated every aspect of "Modern Life", at the time, and magic was among them. Latin meant Power. Speaking with intent, yet incomprehensibly, held an intimidation factor over the 'locals', and their fears added efficacy. The Mystery, as well as the Words, held Power.

    Hollywood Gibberish!
Here is one I cannot pass up! I don't even have to rub J. K. Rowling in your faces!

When I was hitting my teenage years, there was a movie: "Excalibur"! Every Fan-Boy (We were called "Nerds" back then) had the "Charm of Making" memorized! "Anall Nathrach, Ooth Vas Bethod, Dochiel Dienvey"! You couldn't hit a D&D game without someone playing a Magic-User or Druid spitting-out this little gem. It's gone so far as to be reprinted into "American Mysticism". Douglas Monroe has gone as far as to claim they have (Cue-The-Ominous-Music!) "Ancient Druidic Origins"!!! This man also claimed that the druids held sacred a plant native to the Americas: The Pumpkin & it's flowers. Good research-skills, Dougy-Boy!

The worst part is It works.

So many hopefuls , for so long, have been so obsessed with the "Charm-o'-Making", and repeated it with intent, that it seems to be gathering momentum! Whatever captures the imaginations & emotions of practitioners seems to take on a life of it's own!

I guess the lesson to be learned from this is that,it doesn't matter what you speak, as long as it "rings in your soul". It also means that the Group Mind, as well as your own will, is manifesting, and is manifest through, your words of power.

Points to Make, in all of this, so far:

    Words Have Power.
Your Words must mean something to you!
    Faith builds Meaning.
    Your Word must be Law.

In Effect: Honesty is non-negotiable, or even YOU won't believe you!

These are just a few examples of how words effect mind, and in turn, how they effect the outside world. I'll be writing more, in the next page, and giving certain guidelines for exploration.

~I have But Just Begun with "Words on Words"!~

Footnote: It is true: The Polar Ice Caps, are indeed melting! ...On Mars!!! There are only two cars up there, and they're both electric!
I am not saying that the world isn't getting warmer. I'm simply stating that it's not Global Warming. It's Solar Warming: The end of an Ice Age. If temperatures are climbing, there is a lot that each person can do to try and help this world stay capable of supporting human life, but to think yourself so Artificially Important as to convince yourself of being responsible for the temperature change is the height of Vanity! There are three volcanoes on Antarctica that, individually, release more chlorofluorocarbons in a year than man has done in the entirety of Industrial Society. (That means Since 1770!)
Get some perspective, Human!

Footnote "American Mysticism", as the market has it, is a euphemism for "Horribly Erroneous, Blatantly Abused, Out-of-Context, Saw-it-on-TV Once, Misuse of Other Peoples Cultures & Fantasy Fiction". It's an embarrassing mishmash of misquotes, and pseudo-science gone too far. No practical application or experimentation, but simply a regurgitation of trivia tied together, that then refers back to it's self, for validation, like a superstitious Ouroboros!! Example: I draw your attention to "Sacred Geometry"!

Footnote: Upon learning of this data, I once experimented with "Words of Power" from a popular video game, and (at the height of its popularity) the results were effective, to no small degree. I still play with them, now & then, but since it's fan-base & user-census has declined, they aren't as prevalent in the Mass-Mind, and are less powerful. "Thanks for the Test-Group, Lord British".
