This page, we'll cover only one more. It is an exercise in it's own right, but it's a facet that's a staple in every cabinet, mojo-bag, and alter set...

Now, when I was just getting into the beginning of my "Witchcraft" phase (which has lasted all my life), I thought that stones & such were just something to do with your hands, while your brain was doing all the work. I'd guessed that spell components, as a whole, were simply a prop & associative representation for something the brain did, all by it's self, if you just got out of the way.
I was wrong.
To prove my theory, we started testing stones. The problem was, that we'd started proving them accurate, right from the beginning. Take a look at some of the results, so far: They're in "Ameriqve's Test Cauldron Ongoing - Mineralogy Tests ". I was surprised, to say the least. I refused to play host to my own prejudices, but put seriously concerted effort into the task.
I feel that our work is showing that these stones have a definitive effect on the abilities & mental-state of the possessor.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with this aspect, the effect is like this:
By holding said-stone, or wearing it, there is a subtle change to the aura, and that is fed back into the way one thinks & feels. Those aspects of personality and thought-processes, in keeping with the stone's attributes, are focused & amplified. Some are potent enough as to be obvious to the user. Others are subtle, giving only an inkling that they are affecting you at all. These second-case stones' effects will be obvious, as you look over the results, in retrospect. This is Yet Another good reason for keeping a "Book of Shadows" (Spellbook/Journal/What-Have-You)!
My advice for their use is simple. Start, as we did, with the psychometry exercise. (Where did I put that lesson?...Oh Yes, Here it is: HERE). In that exercise, we were solely "Receptive", reading the energy from the object. It's not the same with stones. Many people will try to convince you that a stone has an energy, all on it's own. They do, but they'd be easier to find & dig up if the energy was as set & pronounced as the "New-Wagers" claim it to be. No; what the effect is really based upon is the Variation from how your energy (Aura, et al) effects the structure of the stone, and then receives that modified energy signature. (Look Up "Piezoelectric Effect", in a google search).
The task for you, this time, is to choose a stone, and roll it over in your fingertips & palm. Charge your aura, with a cursory opening of the train of chakras, from crown-on-down. This charges you, and the stone in your hand. You know what "You" feel like, before the stone. Now you have to taste-test the stone, in a give & take fashion, alternately charging it (feeling energy from your hand, or hands, fill the stone), and then read that energy, as you did in the psychometry exercise. If you've been practicing these exercises, it shouldn't be too difficult to shift from "Giving" to "Receiving", through the stone. If you haven't, this will be a great chance to develop it, as "Charging Objects for Spell Casting", and "Empowering Objects, for Continued Effects" will both rely on your aptitude with this skill.
