Spell-casting 101:
"How do I Compose & Create Spells"?

(Brought To You By,...)

This is where we make another departure:

How to act upon these "Laws of Magic" to improve your spell casting, design spells, or tailor spells to your personal ends.

This isn't an Off-The-Shelf world. We all have our own needs, our own goals, and our own desired ends. How can a one-size-fits-none book tell you the right spell to use? It can't! Only you know the particulars in this venue, and therefore, you must be like the Chef, and not the short-order-cook. This isn't "Mickey-D's", folks. Not in YOUR kitchen.

    Let's Cook!

            Now, where to start?
What is a good spell to start with?

Given the economy, let's start with a good "Money Drawing" Spell, shall we?

We need a starting point: What do we have in the cupboards?

            AH! Basil!
Don't Laugh! It's a Time-Honored Spell Component! Just because it reminds you of "Granny McGuire's Home Made Spaghetti Sauce", doesn't make it less so! ~L~

Now if we look in the "L&L Spell Book", we find the "Better Business Spell". Now as we walk through the spell, we see some common elements emerge: Process (Boiling),  Associating with Divine Archetypes (Sun & Moon), Intent (Placement), and even Duration-of-Enervation (Placing it to steep for three days). These elements may not make too much sense, but each is inherent in the spell process.

Which laws have we covered to date?

The Law of…

  1. Infinite Probability
This aspect is the very meat of spell-work. If anything can happen, and observation creates/asserts manifestation, then Intent influences results. The very act of Spell-Casting is this Law.

  2. Singular/Personal Perspective
Being a Willful person, the Spell-caster is out to assert their perspective onto the aforementioned "Infinite Probability"  Universe. "If it can be anything, then Why Not My Way"? Fix in your mind an image of the outcome at every point in the process. While boiling the Basil, while noticing/remembering the jar of steeping liquid, when ever you see the moon or Sun (Ouch!) while away from the mixture.

  3. Infinite Perspectives
Everyone contains multi-form ways of looking at the universe. Even in one person, these reality models change fluidly. At any given moment (or "Now"), there are seemingly countless others that share your world view, or simply the view you need at that moment. There is a strength in those numbers. No matter how distantly related to your goal, they are a "Reality-Shaping Momentum" that you can draw upon, riding like a wave. From the people in the world casting spells just like the one you're doing, to the fringes of the bell-curve, where it's just people "Fearing Witches and their Secret Ways", they add energy.
It's also helpful in suspending disbelief. As with Paradox, below, just because you (and They) know a lot, it doesn't mean that you know it all, and there is room outside your limited worldview, as compared to the infinite-unknown, for magic to be the rule and not the exception.

  4. Cumulative Realities
Now, as Basil is historically attributed, in numerous traditions, to inspire business, repel thieves, and draw money, one is working within the Overt paradigm of spell-casting. When you choose an Item, a day of the week, an hour of your working, a phase of the Moon, etc, you are working WITH the Cumulative Reality Models of those that Do Practice. Their reinforcement of these tools, through their belief systems, as momentum to your castings.
Now, as far as the "Coven Effect" goes, this is where you might consider making it a group project. Within a group, the faith the members have in each other improves the effectiveness of the spell. "Whenever two are gathered,...": Even the bible is right, on occasion.
The difference between the first case & the second is akin to a manifestation of momentum: In the first, it is like your spell is in a bottle, floating in a stream. In the second, it's like attaching your message to a Bullet!

  5. Similarity*

  6. Connection/Contagion*

  7. Personification
"Everything is a person". By having an image of "Basil" as an entity, as opposed to an inert material, one plugs-in to the material in a different way. There forms an exchange of energy, that vitalizes the substance. I'm not suggesting you "Take it out for coffee & get to know it better", but simply addressing It as a vital force, a living thing, that is there to add to your spell-work, activates the substance as you perceive it. This may simply be energizing/enchanting the object as a thought-form, but the inherent attributes of the material are time-honored (see Cumulative Realities, above).

  8. Causality/Inverse Causality (Linear Time)

  9. "All Is Now" (Illusory Time)

  10. Pragmatism*
"If it works, it's real". Truer words were never spoken, and if you've ever actually cast a spell, worked a ceremony, and gotten the results you were looking for, this is where & how this law starts taking shape. Success breeds Success, in this field. It improves Faith with every success.

  11. Unity/The Web or Weave
All things are connected. Not simply drawing from the Unconscious Momentum of The Law of Cumulative Reality, but also pulling the energy of this spiritual connection ("If everyone gives a penny to One Person,..."), your spells gain efficacy! These Two laws must be in accord, though. Try to TAKE a penny from every person, and see how far you get!  ~L~ Think of it as riding With a stream or Against a stream. Now, Channel that stream into your spell!

  12. Paradoxical Reality Models (Subjectivism)
All you have to do is Unhinge your mind!  ~L~ Sorry: I couldn't resist. The biggest failure to any spellcasting is standing there, with a jar of sun- & moon-soaked Basil Infusion, sprinkling it around your home or shop, and suddenly finding yourself saying, "I feel like an idiot". The suspension of your own personal reality is harder than suspending the rest of the world's. This is one reason why magic is best done at night! (I'll explain that one in the next installment!)

  13. Micro/Macro-Cosmic Relationships
When you're in your own environment (in this case, your own business), you have a greater sense of domain, or dominion. You are more 'in-charge' here than anyone else. The thoughts of the outside world (other people) are very far away or disconnected. You don't concern them. Your mind & actions hold Liege here: you are the Law. When casting your Money Drawing spell, ignore that the outside world even exists. All that you need to worry about, and where your attentions should stop, is the area you plan to effect: The outer walls of your shop, and the door that needs-must attract customers (maybe even the front step, if you're doing a 'porch-wash').  By defining the area of effect, internally, you can achieve a greater degree of "energy-over-area" (E/A), as well as define the range of your own perceptions, and, in turn, the level at which others can effect your actions ( being a "cat-in-a-box", as you are).

  14. Dynamic Equilibrium

  15. Information

  16. Unknowns/Uncertainty (Chaos)

  17. Self-Knowledge*

  18. True Names*

  19. Words of Power*

  20.  Symbols of Power*

  21. Positive Attraction*

  22. Opposite Attraction*

  23. Intelligencia

These are a few points, and more will be in place, throughout the rest of the week!
I'm feeling really motivated by this section, so there will be changes in the text, "Deeper Looks" into topics, and more!

This page will keep growing, every few hours (Baring Incident)!
